What is NAATI CCL Test?
NAATI CCL Stands for National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) - Credentialed Community Language (CCL) Test is the accreditation body for Translators and Interpreters in Australia.
The NAATI CCL Test has many Indian languages included for Credentialed Community Language (CCL) test, i.e. Telugu, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Malayalam etc. In fact, Telugu is the latest language addition in the NAATI language list. With NAATI certification, you can work in Australia as a NAATI accredited translator or interpreter. The most important advantage of the NAATI is that you get 5 points for Australia PR.
What are CCL Test Modalities?
→ The duration of examination is Approx. 20 -25 Minutes.
→ The total score is of each of the set of segments is 45 + 45 =90. You have to score at least 29 points in each. But the total score to pass the exam should be 63.
→ IT IS AN INTERPRETATION EXAMINATION (Not translation).
→ There is a dialogue between an English Speaking Person - officer/doctor/service provider Who SPEAKS ONLY ENGLISH and another LOTE (Language Other Than English) Speaker who speaks only his chosen language.
→ The chosen language can be one of the Indian languages like , Telugu, Hindi, or Punjabi Etc. or for a non-Indian LOTE speakers it can be Japanese, French, Irish, Arabic Etc.
→ “The examinee in his response should interpret
(I) English into Telugu /Hindi /Panjabi or any of his chosen language and,
(II) HE /She has to interpret LOTE Language into English.
→ The domains are mostly—Education, Health, Education and Legality. There can be 12 or 14, or 16 or 18 segments.
How the Test is Conducted?
→ The examination takers should have a good quality headset or at least MIC functionality available for PC, and web cam, or use a laptop, Smart phone or a tablet and he/she should be seen on the video by the examiner. Keep your video open.
→ The test taker should have some sheets of whitepaper and a pen to take notes.
→ Most importantly, he/she should keep his/her photo, Id, i.e. Driving license, Pass port etc. ready to show it to the examiner and prove his identity..
→ He /she should be present in front of the system 10 minutes before the conduct of the exam.
