It is structured around the modules Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking and runs for approximately ~3 hours (Listening 40 min · Reading 60 min · Writing 45 min · Speaking 20 min). Scores are reported on a 0–500 numerical · A–E letter grades per sub-test, with universities, employers and immigration authorities setting their own minimum thresholds depending on the visa, programme or licensure stream.

OET Test Format
The total test takes ~3 hours (Listening 40 min · Reading 60 min · Writing 45 min · Speaking 20 min). Listening, Reading and Writing are completed in one sitting, while Speaking is scheduled separately within 7 days of your written test.

Speaking
Module 4
A short interview followed by two 5-minute role-plays where you take the role of the health professional with an interlocutor playing the patient/carer/colleague. Graded on Linguistic and Clinical Communication criteria.
